I know you could create and arrow and then do a link to the next page but my pages change frequently and to update 70 odd links everytime I make a change is too much hassle.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Moonfruit has alot of benifits for clients, namely its user friendly editing tools. The sites I've built are simple and my clients seem to be happy. The one issue I have (which is common for content management sites built with flash) is the limited mobile device viewing, although some online site builders are not at all compatible with mobile devices.

When I wanted to start my business, I did some research and discovered that moonfruit is a common online site builder for designers to use. Search through some of the moonfruit sites and you will find these designers...and the capabilities that SiteMaker has. I've learned ALOT by doing this.

You can build one up using the Directory.

There are e-commerce tools in the Library, but you need to subscribe to the Standard package as a minimum to be able to use them.

It would be most useful if we didn't have to have the scrolling of the page menu.

The Calendar page is rather basic, though it can be used. Have you thought of using a calendar from Google Gadgets, and inserting it via the HTML widget?

If you have not restricted site access in People->Settings->Site Access, then your website will be open for anyone to view, if they can find it.

You cannot password-protect your site by simply giving out a password. You could make it members-only, and use site-level membership, then create members in People->Members or People->Invite new members. If you made membership require approval, then you would have the final decision on who joined your site.

On my website I have some A4 documents that have been made small on my website so they would fit on the website however there use to be a tool that Moonfruit had that if you click ed on the documents they could and would open up into a new web browser and can be made bigger so someone can read them... I have several of these documents already like this however I can no longer find this simple but clever tool to use and I have searched all over Moonfruit please does anyone know the name of even how to find it please thanks Andy

I wonder if you can help. I would like to assign a domain that i bought through Moonfruit to an external wordpress blog. Is this possible? May be a really simple exercise but I cannot see how this is done, apologies.

When you've added a forum widget to your site, do you have to allow members to edit that page for them to be able to post in the forum?

Is there a way for them to just be able to add / edit topics in the forum and NOT items on the page?

I currently have a website/domain with Mr Site and have been looking with interest at moonfruit as I like some of its additional flash functionality, but I am wondering if anyone here has switched from Mr Site and would recommend it ? I may well trial Moonfruit using the free package alongside Mr Site until I get a good understanding of all the options / functionality, but it would be great if someone could give me some feedback. Any comments, recommendations or opinions would be great - thank you, Jen.

PS - I am not expecting anyone to dismiss / bad mouth Mr Site, all web hosts have their good and bad points (and so far I am have been pretty happy) but would just like some honest feedback from you guys.. Thanks again

You can now set longer page lengths using the fullscreen toolbar. You are limited by flash's constraints of 16,777,215 total pixels, so for a 760px wide site you should be able to have a length of over 22,000. Go wild!

But we would highly recommend giving thought to how you could design your site with shorter pages. Industry experts - usability specialists - strongly advise at using long pages if you want users to read all your content. While this is the web there are strong analogies with the print industry. Their maxim still remains that anything important goes above the fold (the top half of a folded newspaper).

In relation to web usability, many specialists suggest keeping all high impact or high importance content within the first screen view (top of the page) and limit the user to scrolling more than 2 to 3 pages down. Better to have many serialised pages than one long one.

This is just recommendations for what it's worth. But it is your site and your free to design it as you see fit.

This is a common confusion, but easily resolved. When you go from page to page within your site the Flash is displaying each page of your site but the HTML page that the Flash site sits in does not refresh so it will always display the Source for the home page.

However within that source are rendered links to each and every visible page on your site. So any bots arriving at your home page will follow each HTML page link to the HTML version of that page. You can do this yourself, as a bot would or you can use the feature we provide.

Simply go to the specific page you wish to check the meta data on while in Edit mode. Go to Edit > Page Settings then locate the "View HTML version". This will render the HTML version of that page allowing you to view source on it. Editing the meta and viewing the source are all available within the same area but it's not always obvious what you need to look for.

So all pages you mark as 'visible' in the menu are published with a text-only version (we run a script to scrape all the content and generate a HTML version) and they do get read by the search engine bots.

I cannot comment on the seochat or your website but if you set up specific keywords, description and title for each page (and the site as a whole) then these will be picked up correctly by all search engine bots.

I've got a website which is selling more than 1000 products. PayPal only allows you to create 1000 buttons max. Does anyone have any solutions? I know it is a bit of a longshot, but PayPal are useless when it comes to customer service. Just thought I'd throw it out there!

Further to this, if I use a meta analyzer from the seochat site, it shows my title tag incorrectly (ie as the site name) and thinks I don't have any descriptions or keywords in place.

What's the problem with this? Am I missing something?
