You can see in the first drop down menu a list of visitor catagories that you can set to get access to particular pages.

If for example you might want to restrict access of the WHOLE site to site admins only, click on the first page under select a page. It will be highlighted BLue.

Then whilst holding down the SHIFT key go down to the last entry in the list , click that and then all the pages will be highlighted.

Go accross to the drop down menu for who can view this page choose site admins only, and you will see that the whole of the page listings will change to Site admins only in the view column. Return to your site to save the change.

You will need to log out to see the effect this has when you visit the site as a normal visitor.

You of course can log in through the box. Other people who you have designated as Site admins on your site can also do the same.

Alternatively you can place your members in a group, and set site access to a particular group.

Just play around with the settings, you can undo anything that you don't want.

This is probable a biggy but does anyone know if there are any plans for Moonfruit to introduce a directory page where you could add details of members/ companies/ products and have them searchable by visitors? If not ot would be an incredible feature...

[You've alraedy done that] . Short memories spring to mind here, cos what we have now is much better than the old one.

It's a bit of faffing around, but you'll get the result you want.

I'd googled what I think is a fairly common search term for the line I'm in and then went through the first five pages, noting keywords in competitor's sites and also which business directories were there. It just so happens that someone quite new to the game is already on the first page and is in just about every business directory, so that might be a handy indication.

I also fed all those keywords I found into a database to sort them alphabetically so I can find the most common, and searched on each competitor to see what directories they were in - I can be quite devious at times, you know :o)

I'll have to hunt out a site I bookmarked a while ago which gives related search terms that people have used when searching. I think I'm going to enjoy the SEO stuff!

Views about the use of directories, vary and some people hold strong views both plus and minus about their value.

Certainly they can give you some back linkage, but their are also schools of thought that their use can create problems with

PR [Page Ranking]. Its up to you if you want to use them, and there are literally thousands of these sites. Take care to make sure that any you choose, are well maintained and don't contain lots of broken links , duplicate content etc as this puts off search engines. Do routine checks on content on the search engines, to see where it ranks.

Have I read of you before on 419eater.com - that's like an international directory of Nigerians and is a very interesting read. The only fly in your ointment is that your sense of geography is rather unsettling, I suspect that when we make arrangements to meet, you'll have gone to England instead of Scotland. I've been told on good authority that most people of Nigerian extraction believe Edinburgh to be the capital of England, but this isn't quite the case.

Even page numbers against topics would be good so you'd know which page to go to. I've used the pdf search button a few times, but a numbered index would certainly help.

What else would be good for us newbies is a list of handy tips that you take a while to figure out for yourself - like the fact that image maps don't show on the online site. Shhh, don't laugh!

In "edit", I couldn't figure out why you can set them to different levels of see-through, so I made them all 0% before checking any alterations as I was going along on the "see my site" mode. Of course, they were ALL at 0% online! Daft now, but . . .

It'll be mostly customers on the site anyway, but I see what you mean. Oh well, more alterations on the site :o(

I suppose it's fairly easy to get a hold of details like that anyway - most firms have them on terms of business, how to pay, etc. on their paperwork somewhere. Hmmm, you're not from Nigeria by any chance, are you? ;o)

As you've given it the once-over, it's probably time to ask for a critique then - what do you reckon? I've still to pop in meta tags and keywords and all that, then I'll get in about the google side of things. It's mostly a brochure for the business and to stop answering the same thing over and over, just point my punters in the direction of the website.

Ive used the new HTML snippet to add a Google translator which shows up but doesnt actually translate my pages???

But..I don’t design templates or plan on it anytime soon. The templates offered from moonfruit are old and well not keeping up with other sites like Wix etc..I have looked at templates Users have submitted and I`m not knocking anyone’s design skills but they are average at best. I feel i could not do much better ,so I`m wishing for a few new templates. I want to publish content in a updated environment that reflects current web trends.Moonfruit has many positive attributes but I feel the current templates are just plain and dated.

I would also be willing to pay for a premium template pack if moonfruit was to offer one...

If anyone out there knows of a site building software which offers this feature PLEASE let us know, I dont care if you have to pay, im willing to pay upto £400-£500 a year for this so ......if ANYONE knows then hit me back on here, cheers,

Ive started using drop down menus using a bit of HTML script in the HTML widget. Its not great, but the dropdown works and opens up in a new window, if you would like to see a working example, i have put it on my website: www.nationaldesignprojects.com

The only restraint is that it wont open in the same window, as it thinks the same window is the HTML widget. The other thing is it wont revert back and display the first value (i.e: Select..)

Thats where its not great! If you find any solutions to the above, contact me through my site!!

1) Good length annotations/comments under photos - not just the file title which displays at the moment. Not a tricky one :-p.

2) Showing the annotations using a scroll-over rather than having to click.

3) Ability to add a shop/buy/add to cart option on a photo in the galleyr. It would make a great shop platform!

If there was the option to use the drop-down for various options, ie: Anchor points within that page OR once you click 'Go' for it to take you to a different page or external link? This would be especially useful for the Page Master.

Another example is that on an Internet Radio station site I've designed.. On the Line Up page, you could select what day you'd like to view the schedule for and it would go to that.
