I think it's about time to have a new blog/news layout. It's been the same since I've been using Moonfruit which was 2003. C'mon moonfruit, keep up with the rest of social networking styles.

Sorry to dissappoint you even more than your dissappointment with what you consider to

be a meagre mb storage level for free sites, but Free sites are not enabled for users

to download from them. I think you said that was to be a major part of your site.

So maybe you should consider a paid upgrade.

It seems that $34.00 a year for 50MB of space is not that much...as you said you like all of the editing options that the other site you left did not provide. I'm a self employed artist...I understand the money issue. But Moonfruit IS a business. If they gave away more than the free site already provides, then more people would be using the free site and they would have less money to pay the moonfruit staff who are consistently expanding and improving the software and it would be a mediocre site builder. I think the fee for the services they provide is a GREAT deal.

Instead of being upset that you aren't getting enough FOR FREE, work with what you are given.

id love to see a better and easier way to sell items on the page. right now, the easiest way is to add pics and text, then make it all match in the "order form" then have people email me, then i send them a bill in paypal or they send me a check in the mail

maybe i just dont understand the add cart feature but an actual in site store would be kool to cusomize, and auto link it to paypal

put your two images which should both be the same size somewhere on the web, so you can hot link them . Maybe photobucket, or flika.

Whilst this generator is for creating roll over buttons, it will work perfectly well for images.

Vertical Menu

With many pages to add, I'd like to see a Vertical Menu that allowed more than 10 links. I know we can expand, but never liked roll out and know many others who prefer to see all in one look.

Many of these functions can now be added using the html widget.

Have a good search around the net, I'm sure you'll find many examples of embeddable widgets, codes, etc.

As a 'work-round' I tend to keep a blank Word document open and copy and paste text into it, do a spell check, then copy and paste back into Sitemaker...it's a long-winded way round the lack of a Sitemaker spellcheck but better than nowt! Hope it helps.

More Space For free

Well, everything's great with sites, but, don't you think that they don't have much space? 20MB is great, but not a-lot. I Switched from wetpaint, because they have too many adds, and i love the customization on moonfruit. But, there's too little space. I just think there should be at least 35 - 40MB for free. Because, I host a blockland site, and i have a lot of downloads that i'm planning on putting on, and now, when users submit them, what if i run out of space? Then what? I'm starting from scratch now, which is why i can't afford to upgrade my account to get more memory. So, just a little more space for free? Thanks.

A Facebook style Wall

A box that you can add in how much you have of a product and as people buy it, it will subtract that amount, so you can keep an eye on making or buying in new stock.

Why not type your text into a word document, run the spell check, then cut and paste your perfectly spelt text to the moonfruit page of your choice?

With so much Google integration already present in a MoonFruit site, it seems to be the next logical step to have Google Apps integration.

Benefits to customers:

Email management passes to Google

Attractive to larger businesses

Stop loss of customers migrating to another solution

Implementation basically requires a means of adjusting the MX settings as described in the Google Apps setup. Seems to be standardized, with many other providers having a personalized description of how to accomplish the integration.

I would like to see a login form that could fit discretely in the upper corner of a page instead of a huge chunky form that cannot be resized. There seems to be alot of wasted space.

More style editing features in forms

My biggest irk with the forms is the line around the form...why can't we edit the color and the density of this feature like we can do in the simpler 'old style form'? I would like to be able to create a form that isn't boxed in with a line - like the old style form. I LOVE THE OTHER FEATURES THAT THE FORM PROVIDES!

I notice that the moonfruit site is full of rounded boxes and rectangles....yet this feature is not available in our websites. The rounded box that is available is not good. Is it difficult to make a rounded box where the corner radius stays consistent and doesn't get stretched out?

You can actually restrict access to your site through the people settings [permissions] in a number of different ways.

You can see in the first drop down menu a list of visitor catagories that you can set to get access to particular pages.

If for example you might want to restrict access of the WHOLE site to site admins only, click on the first page under select a page. It will be highlighted BLue.

Then whilst holding down the SHIFT key go down to the last entry in the list , click that and then all the pages will be highlighted.

Go accross to the drop down menu for who can view this page choose site admins only, and you will see that the whole of the page listings will change to Site admins only in the view column. Return to your site to save the change.

You will need to log out to see the effect this has when you visit the site as a normal visitor.

You of course can log in through the box. Other people who you have designated as Site admins on your site can also do the same.

Alternatively you can place your members in a group, and set site access to a particular group.

Just play around with the settings, you can undo anything that you don't want.

Not strictly true about the slideshow. It does have visable conntrols, back and forward buttons, and a slider to control the speed of the transition. To activate the controls click on the image tag in the floating editor in the drop down menu for captions, set to roll over and apply. Visitors to your pages can then see the controllers as they hover over the pictures.

This would be really useful. The slideshow feature doesn't allow the viewer to control the speed of viewing of individual images, and the individual image pop-up/close-down is a bit of a pain. I endorse the request for a next/previous image viewing facility. Please!

There should be a facility to add a password to the homepage of your website so that only people with that password can access it. At the moment the whole member management thing is not user friendly at all and is over complicated.

Perhaps you could have a forum hosted on another website, and have your website link to the forum,

or you can paste links in a post, so you could make that link go to flickr or photobucket etc

it can be tricky getting the link to work in a post

This is probable a biggy but does anyone know if there are any plans for Moonfruit to introduce a directory page where you could add details of members/ companies/ products and have them searchable by visitors? If not ot would be an incredible feature...

I think the new login feature that moonfruit have introduced is really good, it can be customised colour wise to fit your site style,

[You've alraedy done that] . Short memories spring to mind here, cos what we have now is much better than the old one.

Put the text you want in a separate box, colour it to suit, and place it in the gap you've left in the original text, then put an image map on top to link it to wherever.

It's a bit of faffing around, but you'll get the result you want.
